How to identify scam sites!

Over the years I have been scammed over and over because  I didn't know what warning signs to look for when trying to find work online. I have compiled a list of "red flags" to watch out for when searching online for ways to make money.


#1: The #1 golden rule when looking online for ways to make money is: If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. If you are given promises by a website that you are going to get rich by trying their product, website or ebook, more than likely it's a scam. 

#2: Squeeze Pages: A squeeze page is a page that says "enter name and email" on the home page before you can access any information about the opportunity. Most of these squeeze pages are set in place to steal your email address and name so that they can sell it to spam sites. When this happens, they buyer can then spam your email with advertisements and you not only make zero dollars, you also will have an inbox full of crap to sift through. Usually when you enter into a squeeze page site, they want you to pay for something so be very careful with them.

#3: Start Now for only $49.95: If a company asks you to spend money in order to make money, more often than not, it's a scam. This has been happening for years now. Companies will ask you to pay and then make it almost impossible for you to make any money. Or they will take your money with no intentions of ever paying you. There are often no way to receive a refund from them as all sales are final. If you have done this (Usually paying through paypal) I suggest that you file not only a complaint with the company but a dispute though paypal as well to give you a fighting chance to get your money back.

#4: No Contact information: If you come across a website and they do not offer you any email addresses, phone numbers, or any other form of contact directly through to them, go ahead and X out of the site. You never want to go into business with anyone who is reluctant to tell you how to get in contact with them if you ever need to.

#5: Big Money for doing nothing: There are so many sites out there claiming that you can set up a program to run on auto pilot and you will get paid thousands of dollars. Big no no! No one is going to pay you to do nothing. GPT (get paid to) and PTC (paid to click) sites are all over the place as well. Although there are some out there that do pay, the pay is very little. If you cross a GPT or PTC site claiming that you can make a lot of money for doing nothing, you are sadly mistaken. Don't waste your time.

#5: New Websites:  If the site is new, beware! Especially if there is no listed website owner and it is less than a year old.

These are the main things to look for when you are shopping for a job or ways to make money online. Remember never pay to start a business unless it is a business like Avon or Mary Kay or the like that are already established and accomplished businesses. 
Scammers try everyday to find new ways to get away with their scams so they make their sites look legit in order to fool you. I suggest if you have IE or Firefox that you get the add-on called WOT (Web Of Trust)! What it does is lets people know when a site is a spam, scam, phishing or malicious site. The sites are voted on by REAL users everyday. It has never steered me wrong. If it is a good site, the WOT icon will glow green. If it a bad site, the icon will glow red. If it is an unknown site, the icon will stay gray with a question mark. Always beware unknown and bad rated sites.
If you're still unsure about a site never forget to Google the site name or enter it into the who-is or alexa rankings sites for more info.

Trust me, no one likes to get scammed. I have learned my lesson many times to be cautious of where you enter your information or spend money when you're trying to make some. If you utilize these tactics, you will be better off. Be careful and good luck in the Work At Home hunt!
